BasicBooks General Ledger
You must
have the BasicBooks General Ledger installed before you can use the
Payroll module. Payroll will automatically post
entries into the BasicBooks General Ledger.
PostgreSQL database required
BasicBooks Payroll is a "front end" user interface to the
PostgreSQL
database system. You must have PostgreSQL installed and running
before
you can use BasicBooks. PostgreSQL is free and available with all
Linux distributions. If it is not already installed on your
system contact your system administrator or Linux supplier. The
PostgreSQL Manual and documentation with your Linux system will tell
you
how to set up and start PostgreSQL. BasicBooks Payroll
will create its own
database files the first time it is run as long as PostgreSQL is
properly
installed.
Linux
Any version which supports X-windows and the GTK+
library. (GTK+ is available for and usually ships standard with
all Linux versions.)
Computer, Memory and Disk
Any Intel or Intel Clone computer running the Linux
Operating System.
BasicBooks Payroll requires 229K bytes.
BasicBooks Payroll User Reference Manual in PDF format size is
395.5K bytes. (Ships standard with BasicBooks)
(If you have enough memory and disk space to run Linux, you probably
have enough for BasicBooks too.)
