By downloading BasicBooks programs you certify you have read and agree to the
terms of the BasicBooks software license.

The BasicBooks General Ledger is sufficient for most small business bookkeeping
needs.   Click these links to read about the General Ledger, Accounts Payable,
Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and the Australian GST/VAT Tracking verson.

As your business needs grow you can add the free Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable,
and Payroll modules.  (Refer back to the main index page to read about these programs.)

The download zip file includes complete documentation, a README file with setup
instructions, an install script, and the General Ledger program.  

NOTE: You must have the PostgreSQL data base software installed and operational on
your computer before you can use the General Ledger program.  PostgreSQL is free and
available with all Linux distributions.  (We recommend you use the version included with
your Linux distribution).

When the download is complete put the zip file an a folder where you want to save the file.
Next, unzip the file and read the README file for instructions on how to proceed.
