Other Options

Other menu options allow you to view accounts on the screen and to print accounts. You can print the details of one account or of all accounts. The Brief Chart of Accounts is simply a list of each account number and its title. This is useful for preparing entries before going to the computer. The Detailed Chart of Accounts is a lengthy report that shows all data stored for each account.

Banking Functions

The entry functions available under the Banking topic of the Main Menu allow you to record Checks you have written, record Deposits you have made, and to Reconcile the Bank Account(s). You can also print a number of reports showing the Banking activity and search the data base for checks and deposits.

When you enter a check or deposit into The General Ledger you will need to enter the general ledger account number charged with the check or credited with the deposit. Before recording checks and deposits it is a good idea to ``code'' each check and deposit ticket with the number of the account into which you will put the amount of the check or deposit. To do this just write the account number on the check stub or deposit record. If you have coded the check stub or deposit record before going to the computer you will save time and avoid errors.
