Taking Discounts

Before the check prints, if there was a discount entered for this invoice, and you are making a FULL Payment, you will be reminded of the available discount and must specify whether or not to take the discount. Taking the discount will cause the amount of the payment to be reduced by the discount amount. You can take discounts even if the check date is later than the last date the discount is allowed. Answering YES to the discount question will cause the program to automatically deduct the discount amount from the total due. Answering NO will cause the discount to be ignored when calculating the net amount of the check.

Multiple Invoices will be combined on One Check. If you have selected to pay more than one invoice for the same vendor the amounts for all the invoices selected will be combined into the final net amount of the check. You may specify taking the discount on each individual invoice. The vouchers attached to the check will list each invoice showing the total invoice amount, any credits against the invoice, any partial payments, any discount taken on the invoice, and the net paid for the invoice.

The maximum number of invoices that can be paid on one check is fifteen. If you have selected more than 15 invoices for any one vendor you must remove invoices from the selected list for that vendor until the total number is 15 or less. After writing the check you may then re-select the remaining invoices and pay them on a separate check.

After printing the checks you will be asked if the check printed correctly. Examine the check to verify all is correct. If you answer YES, the invoice(s) will be marked as PAID in the Invoice Database if you are making a Full Payment. If you are making a Partial Payment the amount paid will be applied to reduce the balance of the invoice. Once an invoice is marked as PAID it will no longer be available to select for payment. If you answer NO, selection of the invoice for payment will be reversed and the invoice will remain open and available to select for payment again. If you answer NO you may repeat this process as often as necessary.
